Shay'a and Sha'Tonya

Being a special needs mom is both a challenge and a blessing. It took me almost four years to realize the saying God gives special children to special people. I struggled with always wanting my daughter to have the same experiences and opportunities as any child her age while at the same time I didn't understand why I had to be in this situation. My biggest hope for sharing in this blog is to be a help to another special needs parent that may struggle with work not being supportive to the fact you have to leave to take your child to therapy sessions and not being able to find things to do with our children that accepts them and their special needs.

This is an opportunity to offer suggestions advice and just reassurance that your doing all the right things and to not give up. Because the most important reason to keep going when tough times come like that bad medical report, is our child. We have to do it! If not for anyone else but them! My daughter counts on me to understand her and her needs to live as not a special child but a child.
I choose to help her experience all life has to offer through exploring  new experiences with her. No matter what, she is my gift to treasure.
